*****MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW*****
We were looking forward to celebrating together…however,
we care about you…your families…and your safety!
We will raise a glass and toast our celebrations then…and we are hopeful the new date will work for you and your guests.
We want to extend a special THANK YOU to our sponsors and donors of the Heart Ball and the American Heart Association…especially our
Greater Guilford Life is Why Sponsor, Crumley Roberts!
A Celebration of creating and sharing. Our evening celebrates: our work and mission; our donors and volunteers; and — most importantly — the lives saved and improved because of everyone’s effort. The Heart Ball promises to be an engaging evening of fun and passion bringing community and philanthropic leaders together. Last year, our Heart Ball campaign raised just over $71 million nation-wide allowing us to fund life-saving research and prevention programs in our community and across the country.
Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Our mission drives everything we do.

From Our Chair
“The partnership with the Guilford Heart Ball has allowed us to take our practice of ‘Banking As It Should Be’ and extend it to ‘Life As It Should Be,’ encouraging everyone in our community to put their health first and make changes today for healthier, happier and longer lives.” – Ron Black, President, Bank of Oak Ridge and 2016 Greater Guilford Heart Ball Chair.
NEW THIS YEAR!
American Heart Association’s 2016 Guilford Heart Ball
“Bring a Ball to the Ball” to Benefit Children
at Greater Guilford County Schools
January 12, 2016 – Courtesy of Crumley Roberts, the American Heart Association’s Guilford County Life is Why Sponsor, the 2016 Guilford Heart Ball is providing an opportunity to “Bring a Ball to the Ball” to help children at Greater Guilford County schools get active in order to live more heart-healthy lives. The American Heart Association recommends that children are physically active at least 60 minutes each day to help prevent heart disease and stroke.
Everyone in the community is invited to bring a new athletic ball from the sport of their choice to designated drop-off locations at Heart Ball sponsor businesses. All balls collected during the month of January will be brought to the Heart Ball on February 12th and will be donated to schools throughout Greater Guilford County. Drop-off locations include Crumley Roberts, any Bank of Oak Ridge branch location, VF Jeanswear, Dixon Hughes Goodman, AC Corporation, and Mother Murphy’s. (Location details below)
The Guilford Heart Ball is a black tie event which will be held Friday, February 12th at The Elm Street Center in Greensboro. The Guilford Heart Ball will be bringing nearly 300 Guilford County community and business leaders together to celebrate lives saved, to raise vital funding needed for research and prevention education, and to make a stand against heart disease and stroke in our community.
Heart disease and stroke are the No 1 and No. 5 killers of both men and women in the United States, with nearly one out of every four deaths in North Carolina due to heart disease. Bringing it even closer to home, heart disease is the second leading cause of death and stroke is the third leading cause of death in Guilford County. However, the power of prevention is real. Eighty percent of heart disease and strokes are preventable by monitoring your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose and making heart-healthy lifestyle changes. The evening will include a silent auction, featuring one-of-a-kind art pieces, food/wine packages and great trips, as well as a live auction and a gourmet dinner.
